How to ski in Moena

Moena sits at 1 184 metres, and it is around the village centre that most of the blue pistes are found, roughly 40 per cent of the area's 45 kilometres. Beginners and families can easily head straight out from the valley station in the village, without having to travel far or cross more difficult sections to reach the gentler slopes.

The higher up the network you go, the more demanding the terrain becomes. Towards the top at 2 350 metres you will find the red sections, which make up 25 per cent of the piste area, along with the black sections at 10 per cent, where the slopes are steeper and ask more of the skier.

The 14 lifts in Moena link the pistes together so that you can move between the different parts of the ski area in a single day. Moena is also part of a considerably larger network together with Alpe Lusia and San Pellegrino, which between them offer 100 kilometres of pistes, making it possible to ski on beyond Moena's own 45 kilometres if you want to explore more of the region.

The difference in altitude between the village and the summit gives a vertical drop of 1 166 metres, which means long, uninterrupted runs for anyone wanting to ski all the way from the top down to the valley station in one go.
