How to ski in Andalo
Andalo sits on a plateau in Trentino at 1 400 metres, and the Paganella Ski area fans out from the central top station down towards the resort and several smaller villages on the plateau. Beginners and families will find their easier runs on the open section up by the top station, reached by lift straight from the village without having to cross steeper terrain first.
Most of the piste map is dominated by red runs, a full 73 per cent of the 37 kilometres of piste in the ski area. The single black run sits off to one side on a steeper flank, a clear contrast to the otherwise open landscape, and suits anyone wanting to tackle a shorter challenge before returning to the main artery.
The lift system is built around just a handful of hubs, which makes it possible to move between the sectors without shuttling back and forth across the whole ski area. With 15 lifts and 37 kilometres of piste, you can put together a circuit covering most parts of Paganella Ski in a day, with the villages on the plateau as natural starting and finishing points.
