Piste map of Tignes

The piste map of Tignes shows a high-alpine ski area in Savoie, part of the shared Espace Killy network with a total of 300 km of pistes, 150 km of which lie within Tignes' own boundaries. The village at 2 100 metres serves as a natural starting point, and 44 lifts tie the various sectors together up to 3 456 metres, where the glacier terrain offers skiing even outside the normal season. Beginner runs are found mainly around the village system at lower altitude, while steeper and more demanding pistes spread out across the upper parts of the map. What makes this particular map unique is how clearly it links Tignes with its neighbour Val d'Isère, showing the full extent of Espace Killy in one context.

How to ski in Tignes

Tignes sits at 2 100 metres, and it is around the village system at this altitude that beginners and families will find the most accessible skiing. From here it is easy to get out onto the pistes straight from your accommodation, without having to cross more difficult terrain to reach the green and blue runs that make up a large part of the area.

The higher up the map you go, the more demanding the terrain becomes. The red pistes, which account for a good third of Tignes' piste offering, and the black sections in the upper reaches call for solid technique, especially on the steeper flanks near the summit area at 3 456 metres.

Tignes' 150 kilometres of pistes form part of the larger Espace Killy network, which together with Val d'Isère offers a total of 300 kilometres. With 44 lifts linking the sectors, you can move freely between Tignes and its neighbour in a single day, meaning a skier in good shape can cover large parts of both resorts.

The vertical drop between the village and the summit is around 1 356 metres, which gives plenty of variation in snow conditions. The glacier terrain at the very top makes it possible to ski outside the regular season, while the lower slopes around the village can get busy in the middle of the day when everyone gathers there for lunch and easier skiing.
