Around the village centre in La Toussuire, large, gentle fields open up that are easy to survey, perfect for beginners and families. From here you can simply step straight onto your skis, with green and blue runs taking care of those first turns without you having to travel far from your accommodation.
What stands out on the piste map is the high proportion of red pistes, a full 71 per cent of the 275 kilometres. They spread across all the higher parts of the network and link La Toussuire with the neighbouring villages in Les Sybelles. Black terrain accounts for only a small share, 8 per cent, and is concentrated in the more remote corners of the map, some distance from the beginner fields down by the village.
